Design Data

Design data is the required information, usually obtained from the purchaser, safe engineering practise and specification standards, which will allow for a reference point when calculating safety and operation critical aspects of the storage tank design.

Design Formulae is obtained from various different specifications, dependent upon the type and layout of storage tank to be designed.

The outcome of the mechanical design calculations gives the purchaser and end user piece of mind that the product is suitable for the intended use. Design data includes, but are not limited to, the following information.

  • Nominal capacity.
  • Major dimensions.
  • Operating temperature.
  • Operating pressure.
  • Corrosion allowance.
  • Joint efficiency.
  • Process liquid.
  • Anticipated external loads.
  • Corrosion protection.
  • Access and containment.

Manufacturing Standards

Tseba Tanks’ products are designed and manufactured in accordance with applicable international standards, supplemented with South African standards as guidelines on manufacturing and installation practises. These include, but are not limited to:
